Educational Psychology
looks at ways of providing help to children with learning, social, emotional,
and developmental needs both within an education setting and within the
home. The needs of gifted children can also be addressed.
- Assessment of development
in the early years (2 onwards)
- Assessment and
recommendations to parents, schools and other professionals in relation
to special educational needs. e.g. dyslexia, dyspraxia, attention deficit/hyperactivity
disorder, autism, speech and language difficulties, Asperger's Syndrome
and children with co-ordination difficulties
- Assessment and
recommendations to parents, schools and other professionals in relation
to pupils who do not appear to be making the appropriate progress
- Psychological support
to parents and pupils where there are social and emotional difficulties
either in home or at school e.g. behaviour problems, sleeping difficulties,
eating disorders
- Management of stress
and pressure and impact on school e.g. exam stress, life changes at
home
- Development of
creativity and intelligence
- Exam board reports
